Soaring with Eagles is a unique career mentoring event for teens being held on Saturday, September 26, from 9AM to 4PM, in the National Airline History Museum at the Kansas City Downtown Airport.
This event is designed to mentor teens about investigating, selecting and planning for careers and colleges early in their middle and high school years. More than 140 participants will be hosting exhibits specifically to inform and educate students about more than 40 careers. And some 40 colleges, universities, medical and trade schools will be presenting their educational opportunities. In additional, eight seminars will be offered by professionals to discuss how teens should develop and execute a plan for achieving their career. Special exhibits by the Kansas City zoo, KC Art Institute, Civil Air Patrol, the military and other organizations will offer teens the unique opportunity to pick the minds of professionals in many career fields and many educational institutions at one time while learning about goal setting and the pursuit of the career of their interest.
In addition to the educational component of our event, we will also by showcasing various aspects of America and its history. On display will be special exhibits of military art, WWII Veteran video documentaries, and historical and modern aircraft from the National Airline History Museum, including the flying TWA Lockheed Constellation. Also on display will be military and civilian equipment from Special Operations, the US Army, Marine Combat Logistics Regiment, and local fire and police departments. Info at soaringwitheagles.org.
