Copeland’s passion for the blues gives her music power and a heart-pounding urgency. This young singer, dubbed as the new “Queen of the Blues,” has opened for the Rolling Stones, headlined at the Chicago Blues Festival, scored critics choice awards, shared the stage with Buddy Guy, B.B. King, Mick Jagger and Eric Clapton, and has performed at the White House for President Barack Obama and First Lady Michelle Obama.
Joining her is Blind Boy Paxton, who was named the Village Voice’s 2014 Blues Artist of the Year. Paxton effortlessly embodies the spirit of early music, including ragtime, ’20s jazz and Dust Bowl-era blues, delivering them through a dizzying display of virtuosity on guitar, piano, banjo and fiddle.
