The Pleiades Project Round Robins: an International Collaboration by Seven Artists

The Pleiades Project is an exciting international collaboration of seven artists creating multidisciplinary artwork based on the Pleiades Star Cluster. The original collaborating artists are Diana Dunkley, Charlotte Pessoni, Nan Renbarger and Margaret Rose of Kansas, USA and Estelle Anderson, Mardi Henley and Peta Milne of NSW and ACT, Australia.

During the May 27 Lawrence Final Friday art event, the group will be exhibiting seven Round Robin artworks at Studio 3D, 1019 Delaware Street, Lawrence, KS - 1 1/2 blocks South of Seed Co and the Cider Gallery, from 5:00 PM to 9:00 PM.

To create the Round Robin pieces, each artist started an artwork which was then passed around so that every member of the group had a hand in the finished piece. Along with the finished artworks, the group will show stop action video of the evolution of the pieces, and read collaborative poems by some of the group members written in the Pleiades format.

The Pleiades Project began in August of 2014 and has no ending date as yet. The seven artists are also collaboratively and individually working on several other art pieces within the collaboration, including an interpretation by each of the artists as one of the stars in the cluster.
