Master Practitioner Workshop

Description: The Great Plains Laboratory, Inc. will host a special three-day workshop for healthcare practitioners in Kansas City, July 14-16, 2017 at Hotel Sorella on the Country Club Plaza. The Great Plains Laboratory, Inc. is a leader in providing testing for metabolic, genetic, mitochondrial, and environmental factors in chronic health conditions from autism to psychiatric and autoimmune disorders. The laboratory is based in Lenexa, KS and provides services all over the world. The workshop is ideal for practitioners using integrative medicine or for those who are interested in it. Over the course of the three days, practitioners will learn how to incorporate specialty diagnostic tests in their practices to help their patients achieve greater health outcomes. Testing covered includes organic acids testing, toxic chemical testing, genetic testing, and more. Participants will learn about key markers in the tests, why they are relevant, how to interpret results, how to use the tests in tandem, and will review integrative treatments that have been effective. The workshop leaders will present patient cases in which the testing and treatment protocols have resulted in significant improvement for patients. CME and CE credits are available for qualified practitioners. The Director of The Great Plains Laboratory, Inc., William Shaw, Ph.D. will be one of four workshop leaders. He is board certified in the fields of clinical chemistry and toxicology by the American Board of Clinical Chemistry. Before he founded the laboratory, Dr. Shaw worked for the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC), Children’s Mercy Hospital, University of Missouri at Kansas City School of Medicine, and Smith Kline Laboratories. He is the author of Biological Treatments for Autism and PDD, originally published in 1998 and Autism: Beyond the Basics, published in 2009, and has had several articles published in various medical journals. He is also a frequent speaker at conferences worldwide. For all workshop details and to register, go to For questions, e-mail or call 913.341.8949.
