The combined choirs of the Unitarian Universalist fellowships of Lawrence, Topeka, Manhattan and Salina will present nine selections in styles ranging from rhythms driven by djembe and electric guitar to melodies that are more reflective and tranquil, with plenty of stops in between!
Dr. Slawomir Dobrzanski, Professor of Pianoforte, Kansas State University, and Manhattan UU Fellowship member and pianist, will accompany the choirs. He will also perform “Chopin Ballade no. 1, op. 23”.
Michele Bergman and Brad Wertz, members of the Unitarian Fellowship of Lawrence, will perform the first movement of the “Cello Sonata no. 3” by Beethoven.
The choirs will also be accompanied by Lawrence musicians Michael Paull, electric guitar; Dylan Bassett and Kade Bassett, percussion; and a string ensemble.
There is no admission charge, but proceeds from a free will offering will benefit Kansas Interfaith Action, a statewide, multi-faith, issue-advocacy organization that “puts faith into action” by educating, engaging and advocating on critical social, economic, and environmental justice issues. Please be generous!
Refreshments will be served following the performance.
