Frogs: Sounding the Future

The Shafer Gallery in Great Bend Kansas in collaboration with the Kansas Wetlands Education Center presents Frogs: Sounding the Future. The exhibit runs from May 12th through June 17th

This month-long multi-faceted event will feature work by National Geographic photographer Joel Sartore founder of the Photo Ark project. The Photo Ark project is dedicated to photographing as many animals as possible—before some disappear.

As part of the exhibit kids of all ages can explore the Frog Watch Adventure, an interactive naturalist installation. On May 14th they can also make toad abodes in the Barton Community College ceramics lab. On May 25 children ages 3-5 can have fun at a frog themed story time at the gallery.

There will be a reception on May 20th @ 6:00 featuring a talk by Nathaniel Nelson, curator of the Sedgwick County Zoo. This event is part of the Shafer Gallery Art and Science Encounters series.
