Community Concert for Conservation in Manhattan, KS

Kansas State University (K-State) Engineering Extension and the Flint Hills Discovery Center are sponsoring a community concert for conservation on Thursday, July 23, from 6:00-10:00 p.m. at the Blue Earth Plaza in Manhattan, Kansas. The free concert is one of the last Kansas activities planned for the European Student Leaders Summer Institute on Environmental Stewardship (Summer Institute), a program sponsored by the U.S. Department of State and hosted by Kansas State University. The concert will feature music from the Red State Blues Band and food and drinks will be available by the K-State Meat Science Association, which uses the funds for student scholarships. Community members are also encouraged to stroll through the Flint Hills Discovery Center, open until 8 p.m. that evening, to learn about conservation of the tallgrass prairie.
