Barton Orchestra Concert

The Barton Community College Orchestra will perform at 7:30 p.m. Thursday, April 23 in the Shafer Art Gallery.

The 24-piece orchestra is comprised of high school, college and adult members of the Barton and Pawnee county areas.

Featured artists include Barton violinist and soccer player Dania Rodriguez, and Barton piano major Hannah Mosier.  Rodriquez will play the violin solo from "Ashokan Farewell" from the Public Broadcasting System series “The Civil War.”  Mosier will play “Concerto Miniatures,” a set of four commonly known piano pieces for young pianists.  Both performers will be accompanied by the orchestra.  Other selections include the first movement of the ”Jupiter Symphony” by Mozart, “Amadeus!” from “Symphony #25” by Mozart, “Suite from the Magic Flute” by Mozart and “Aragonaise” from "Carmen" by Bizet.

The orchestra is under the direction of Steven Lueth, Director of Instrumental Activities at Barton Community College.  The concert is free and open to the public.  There will be refreshments served at the end of the concert and an opportunity for attendees to meet and greet the players.
