Art of Conversation: Sports and Social Justice

Description: Join us for this next event in the highly popular collaboration between the Watkins and the Lawrence Arts Center, the Art of Conversation, from 2-3:30 PM on Saturday, November 12. This year marks the 125th anniversary of basketball, a sport with deep Lawrence and KU roots. In conjunction with the new Watkins exhibit "Power Forward: 125 Years of Basketball," this Art of Conversation event will feature three experts on connections between sports and society. Sports and 20th-century U.S. historian Dr. Jonathan C. Hagel, James Naismith biographer Dr. Michael J. Zogry, and DeBruce Center director Curtis Marsh will share insights into issues of sports and social justice and converse with the audience. Don't miss this chance to learn more about how sports have impacted our lives, enjoy free refreshments, and see our new basketball exhibit! Submitted by: Will Hickox Watkins Museum of History
