While admission to Know Your Antiques is free, antique reviews cost $5 per item or $12 for 3 for Douglas County Historical Society members; for non-Members, $10 per item or $25 for 3. Attendees may purchase advance tickets on the event webpage at Featured experts will provide reviews but not official appraisals. Please, no firearms, other weaponry, books or documents.
Know Your Antiques will also feature a series of special presentations and tours on the themes of family and museum collections. Watkins curator Brittany Keegan presents “Highlights of the Watkins,” two short talks on interesting artifacts. Collections assistant Cole Finley conducts three behind-the-scenes tours of the Watkins and our amazing collections. From 11-11:30 AM, Whitney S. Baker presents on “Basics of Preserving Family History.” Patricia Graham presents “Appraising Your Possessions—Guidance from a Certified Expert” from 2:15-3 PM.
