60th Topeka Gem and Mineral Society's Rock, Gem, mineral & Fossil Show, Daimond Jubilee Has Many Facets

Description: Topeka Gem & Mineral Society will have its 60th Rock, Gem, Mineral and Fossil Show: Diamond Jubilee Has Many Facets. Display of the Stockton Diamond memorabilia from Topekan Walter Stockton's 1983 6.20 carat diamond find at Crater of Diamonds State Park, Murfreesboro, Arkansas. This year we are honored to have The Cardwells from Weather Channel's "Prospectors" show as vendors and guest lecturers. They will give a 30-minute lecture each day. Other activities throughout the show include new vendors selling finished and rough rock, hand crafted jewelry and lapidary supplies. There will be demonstrations of wire wrapping cabochons into jewelry, cabochon making, silversmithing and sphere making. Children and youth activities will include the popular Pebble Pile, pet rock painting, grab bag rock collections and inexpensive specimens at the scholarship table where proceeds from the grab bags and rock go totally toward the national scholarship fund. There will be concessions on site. Come see the Cardwells. Submitted by: Donna A. Stockton, TGMS Publicist Topeka Gem & Mineral Society, Inc. (Non-profit)
