Ben Markley and Clint Ashlock Quartet, from the KPR Studio

Clint Ashlock leads the KC Jazz Orchestra as well as his own quartet.
Clint Ashlock leads the KC Jazz Orchestra as well as his own quartet.

Denver-based pianist Ben Markley and Kansas City trumpeter Clint Ashlock (best known as director of the Kansas City Jazz Orchestra) lead a quartet that also includes KC's own Gerald Spaits on bass and Denver drummer Ed Breazeale in the KPR studios, with a cooking set of original tunes by both Markley and Ashlock. KPR's Bob McWilliams will also visit with Markley and Ashlock about their music and musical influences. You can hear this exclusive concert at 9 p.m. tonight during Jazz in the Night and 2 p.m. Saturday during the Jazz Scene.
