A: Pittsburg State University

Born in Texas and raised in Oklahoma, Gary Busey attended Pittsburg State University on a football scholarship in the early 1960s. After a knee injury, he transferred to Oklahoma State and studied acting. Busey is perhaps best-known for his starring role in the movie: “The Buddy Holly Story.” His portrayal of legendary Texas singer Buddy Holly earned him an Academy Award nomination for Best Actor in 1978.
