Q: What’s the name of the nation’s FIRST “million-dollar” high school?

A: Topeka High School

Topeka High, the nation’s first “million-dollar high school,” opened in 1931. Construction costs reached $1.75 million. The school’s principal at the time, Willard Van Slyck, proclaimed: “A million-dollar student body for a million-dollar high school."
