This month KPR is featuring the work of local artist Bob Jernigan in its conference room. After working as an art teacher for 23 years in Arizona, Bob is retired and lives in Lecompton. He participates in a weekly watercolor group, which recently met in the KPR conference room (and is pictured). The group of retired schoolteachers meets regularly to paint together.
In addition to his larger pieces, he sells handmade greeting cards, using the proceeds for supplies and donating the rest to the Lawrence Lions Club, a local service organization. Bob's interest in art started with a Mickey Mouse coloring book when he was five years old.
