Conversations: Helen Thorpe, "The Newcomers"

In her latest book, journalist Helen Thorpe tells the story of refugee teenagers at a Denver public high school. On this edition of Conversations, she joins us to talk about The Newcomers: Finding Refuge, Friendship, and Hope in an American Classroom. Her writing has appeared in the New York Times Magazine, the New Yorker, and Slate. Her radio stories have aired on This American Life and Soundprint.
