Cynthia Levinson is a former teacher, education policy consultant, researcher and children’s book author. Sanford Levinson is an American legal scholar and Professor of Law at the University of Texas at Austin. He is also the author of several books on the constitution.

The novel, which is drawn from her own experiences, has been longlisted for the National Book Award.
